Visualising the invisible threat of air pollution around your cities. presenting air pollution through colour changing flowers, constantly adapting to the air quality detected. left lungs flowers show negative air quality, right lungs flowers show positive air quality.
Research that inspired design: 4.5 million people die each year due to exposure of air pollution with health risks that follow. Air pollution can change 8 times in a single city block. Polluted air particles are so small that they get into our lungs undetected and impact our health.
Main aim: Raising peoples awareness of air pollution around them, whihc can impact their health.
How concept works:
1. Design is placed in a high air polluted area around city where the design recieves data.
2.Data is presented through flowers on lung design piece, the colour of the flowers represents which chemicals are in the air.
3. Viewers can watch the colour changing flowers and visualise air pollution in the lung shape.
4. The viewer has gained knowledge on air quality, and are now more aware of the pollution around them.
Each colour on the left lung represents the negative air pollution around them. The concpet recieves data on air quality in local area and displays it through the colours.
